DESCRIPTION
The Allen-Bradley 1771-IR is a PLC5 resistance temperature detector (RTD) input module.
The module has six (6) input channels and is compatible with copper and platinum RTD types.
It is designed to support temperature measurements in Celsius and Fahrenheit units of measurement. It has a scan time of 50 milliseconds for six channels.
About the 1771-IR
The Allen-Bradley 1771-IR is a PLC-5 RTD input with a natural binary BDC supported data format for actual temperature and ohmic readings.
The unit does not require any type of external power supply. It consists of six three-wire RTD inputs.
The device’s channel update resolution www.ge-drive.com introduces a combination of 50ms/6 channels and 16 bits + sign (1.0 degrees Celsius/1.0 degrees Fahrenheit/bit).
The 1771-IR input module has a voltage range of 100 ohms platinum and 10 ohms other. It has a backplane current range of 800mA.
The DC signal delay is 10ms in the on state, 50ms in the off state, and 45(+/- 15) ms in the AC signal delay in the on state.
These input modules have a lifetime of up to 100 million cycles as they meet voltage requirements of 10-276V AC.
The 1771-IR also helps protect your system by providing appropriate troubleshooting assistance. Module indicators show the status of smart inputs or outputs to help you troubleshoot your equipment.
The 1771-IR has an intelligent hybrid interface for connecting on/off devices such as switches, motor starters, pushbuttons, indicators and signalers.
This unique feature helps save on system engineering and spare parts as well as inventory and training costs.
The front panel of each AC discrete input/output module consists of bright status indicators.
The 1771-IR supports both Celsius and Fahrenheit measurement units. The platinum sensor has a temperature measurement range of -200 to +870 degrees Celsius and the copper sensor has a temperature measurement range of -200 to +260 degrees Celsius.
It has a resistance range of 1.00 to 600.00 ohms and a resolution of 0.1 degrees Celsius or 0.1 degrees Fahrenheit when used with a platinum sensor and 0.3 degrees Celsius or 0.5 degrees Fahrenheit.
The 1771-IR draws 950 mA at 5VDC from the backplane, consumes 4.75 watts, and has a thermal dissipation of 16.2 BTU/hour.
It is capable of open wire detection.
The 1771-IR is compatible with PLC2. PLC3. and PLC5 controllers. It can also be installed in various enclosures such as the 1771-A1B, 1771-A2B, 1771-A3B, and 1771-A4B I/O enclosures.
The module uses the 1771-WF pendulum arm to terminate signal lines keyed between 10 and 12 or 28 and 30.
